Welcome to HearingYou.org (the “Site”). Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you visit our Site.

Who we are

HearingYou.org is owned by EHIMA, the European Hearing Instrument Manufacturers Association. EHIMA is a not-for-profit entity under Belgian law (aisbl).

Normal website usage
In general, you can browse the Site without telling us who you are or revealing any personal information about yourself. The only information we gather during general browsing is from standard server logs. These include your IP (Internet Protocol) address, domain name, browser type, operating system, and information such as the website that referred you to us, the files you download, the pages you visit, and the dates/times of those visits.

Information We Collect
We use Google Analytics to collect information about your use of the Site. Google Analytics collects information such as how often users visit the Site, what pages they visit, and what other sites they used prior to coming to the Site. Google Analytics collects only the IP address assigned to you on the date you visit the Site, rather than your name or other personally identifying information.
The legal basis for which we are collecting the above data is based on our legitimate interest: to analyze the website performance, to improve our services and our website functionality.

Data Retention
Google Analytics retains this data for a period of 26 months from your last interaction with our site. After this period, the data is automatically deleted.

Use of Information
The information collected through Google Analytics is used to understand how visitors interact with our Site, which helps us improve our content and user experience. We do not use the information collected through Google Analytics to identify individual users personally.

Protection of Information
We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. To prevent unauthorized access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

Sharing of Information
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer any information collected through Google Analytics to outside parties. The data collected is used solely for our internal purposes to improve the Site and user experience.

User Rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
Right to Access: You have the right to request access to the data we hold about you. As our website only collects anonymous data through Google Analytics, no personal data is stored that can be linked to you.
Right to Rectification: If you believe that any data we hold about you is incorrect or incomplete, you have the right to request its correction. However, as we do not collect personally identifiable information, this right is not applicable in our case.

Right to Restriction of Processing: You have the right to request that we restrict the processing of your personal data. Given that we do not process personal data, this right is not applicable.
Right to Data Portability: You have the right to request a copy of your personal data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format. As we do not collect personal data, this right is not applicable.
Right to Object: You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data. Since we only collect anonymous data through Google Analytics, this right is not applicable.
