Around 1 in 2 people in the UK with hearing loss use hearing instruments—placing the UK among the top three countries globally for adoption. Encouragingly, satisfaction among hearing aid users has risen to 82%, and average daily usage now reaches 9 hours, reflecting increased engagement with the technology. Nearly all users (96%) report an improvement in their quality of life, while stigma is lessening, with 70% saying they never feel mocked or rejected due to their hearing aids.
EuroTrak is the largest exercise to survey population health based on self-reported hearing loss and the experience of hearing-impaired people in terms of receiving diagnosis and treatment. EuroTrak UK was commissioned by EHIMA and BIHIMA and executed by Anovum (Zurich). A total of 1,285 people with hearing impairment participated.
