Europe’s hearing care industry comes together at the 2024 EUHA Congress

Each year, audiology professionals from across Europe and the world gather to exchange knowledge and discuss new developments in hearing aid and implant technology at the annual EUHA congress and trade fair. The event is jointly organised by the European Union of Hearing Aid Acousticians (EUHA) and the German Hearing Industry Association (BVHI). Together, the congress and exhibition are a highlight of the annual calendar for those professionally involved in hearing care. EUHA is the largest international gathering of hearing care professionals, scientists, hearing aid and implant-manufacturers, ENT doctors, health insurance companies, and those committed to delivering the best possible care to people living with hearing impairment.

More than eight thousand visitors and exhibitors from over 90 countries attended this year’s congress and trade fair, held in Hannover, Germany from October 16-18. It was an opportunity to share updates on the latest innovations, cultivate the hearing care community and support professional development in the sector

This year’s keynote lectures on “Future Friday”, the traditional conclusion of EUHA on its last day,  included four fascinating speakers: Theresa Schleicher, renowned retail industry expert and futurologist discussed the future of retail, while Prof Dr David Matusiewicz, digital health expert, Professor of Medical Management at the FOM University of Applied Sciences and Founder and CEO of the DXM Group, spoke about digital transformation in the hearing acoustics industry. PD Dr Benedikt Höing from Essen University Hospital provided a thought-provoking lecture on AI in hearing aid research and Sergi Rotger-Griful from the Eriksholm Research Centre in Snekkersten, Denmark, spoke about the importance of understanding communication challenges for people with hearing loss.

130 exhibitors from 19 countries presented the latest advancements in hearing care products and services at the world’s biggest trade exhibition for the hearing industry, organised by BVHI. BVHI itself launched the next phase of its digitalization project “HIDataSync”, allowing hearing care acousticians direct and automated access to digital product data-catalogues of hearing instrument manufacturers.
