When you experience an allergy such as hay fever, your immune system reacts to allergens by producing antibodies. These release histamine, which in turn produces an allergic reaction such as sneezing, itching and increased mucus production. If this secretion fills the Eustachian tubes, which sits between the middle ear and the nasopharynx and connects our ears to our nose, ear pain can occur.
